About us

Our Mission is Simple

Our mission is simple: To recognize the special values of family, friendship, and community found within the people of the Clarksburg, Massachusetts area and reward them through scholarships and grants in order to honor the life of Capitol Police Officer Billy Evans, a beloved friend, husband, father, and son.

We achieve this mission by partnering with local businesses and event spaces to host fundraisers, such as the Billy Evans Memorial Golf Tournament. We believe Billy’s personal values are best remembered through strong community-connection, and our reinvestment into the youth of his beloved community is meant to foster and reflect the way Billy lived his life.

Capitol Police Officer William Francis Evans was born on February 18, 1980 in North Adams, Massachusetts. He moved to Clarksburg prior to high school and made a crew of lifelong friends. He graduated Drury High School in 1998 and then attended Western New England College, graduating in 2002. He officially become a Capitol Police Officer in Washington in March, 2003. For over 15 years he served as a member of the First Responder Unit, assigned to the North Barricade at the Capitol Building. Billy was tragically killed in the line of duty as he bravely defended the Capitol Building on April 2, 2021. He left behind his two children, Logan and Abigail, their mother, Shannon; his mother, Janice; sister, Julie, brother-in-law, Andrew, nephew, Timothy, and niece, Katherine; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
